Corporate & Social Responsibility Regional Strategy

Client Profile:  A Corporate & Social Responsibility (C&SR) Executive at a Fortune 500 company with regional headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Opportunity:  A C&SR vision, mission, and strategy across 17 Latin American countries needed to be created and structured to propel the team to achieve their goals more effectively.  I was hired to design this effort which spanned the private, public and non-profit sectors and all industries.

Idea:  A strategic framework, including strategic objectives and tactics, was developed based on a thorough situational analysis. This effort inspired the definition of the mission and identification of key stakeholders. The mission we defined for the team was to focus on some of the most pressing social issues in each Latin American country because that was the best approach to make a tangible difference.  The central idea was to treat each Latin American country as a unique entity with specific social issues to address as well as identifying its distinct ecosystem of private, public and non-profit sector stakeholders.

RESULTS

The results attained were exceptional because:

  • the Executive was able to clearly articulate how the Latin America C&SR team executed their mission and strategic goals in a structured fashion for the benefit of each country's ecosystem of stakeholders
  • once the mission and strategic goals were communicated internally and externally, it measurably enhanced this Fortune 500 company's C&SR brand image
  • the ecosystem of stakeholders was able to deliver the best solutions to their constituencies and make a positive impact on select social issues in each country
  • the support the C&SR team was able to provide to the ecosystem of stakeholders was laser-focused on the few things that made a profound difference in changing people's lives for the better
