More Masterpieces AND OTHER WORKS OF ART:
- Cross-Industry: Founded and chaired a strategic IBM Software Acquisition Council, creating related acquisition (including licensing) processes to ensure essential application software was available for key clients' projects. This strategy dragged over $100 million dollars in hardware and system software for strategic projects.
- Cross-Industry: Built and managed a U.S. and a European team to redesign an IBM US Financial Incentive Program, processes, and execution plan to increase growth in our server businesses through Independent Software Vendors (ISV's). This program's forecast was to reap at least $200M in two years based on ISV involvement.
- Cross-Industry: Designed and managed a Corporate Marketing Tool to track critical success gaps and actions by server brand and for each one of 11 distribution channels. Achieved successful deployment of pilots in 3 geographies. Created a distribution channel execution and management roadmap to deploy required actions for all brands in all distribution channels, optimizing multi-channel operations and revenue performance. A positive impact in this area represented tens of millions of dollars in incremental revenue.
- Cross-Industry: Handpicked to join the IBM Global Small & Medium organization to lead Business Strategy & Business Development Programs, managed internal and external teams in response to a request from the IBM Chairman to create a Very Small and Small Business strategy. Strategy design included new product development recommendations, customer value insights, and business case. The team I led was responsible for the customer insights part of the equation which the Chairman requested that other organizations emulate. IBM Chairman authorized $50M+ in investment funding (which included a company acquisition) and strategy was successfully deployed globally, yielding tens of millions of dollars.
- Web Hosting Industry: The IBM Chairman defined six Co-opetition Strategic Growth Projects as being critical to IBM's success. One of those projects was to establish a partnership with the No. 1 hosting company in the market that IBM and other companies competed in the U.S. I was handpicked to work under the leadership of the No. 2 executive at IBM, the Senior Vice President of Sales and Distribution, who reported directly to the Chairman. The goal was to forge a strategic partnership agreement with this top competitor. By establishing a collaborative and win-win relationship with a fierce competitor, we were able to provide our customers with another option for their hosting needs and grow IBM's brand image, presence, and revenue. In 8 months, we doubled the IBM footprints at the competitors' site and earned over $25M in incremental revenue.
- Education Industry: Leading an internal consulting team for a global non-profit organization, we designed a growth strategy with related operational improvements for its international organization. This strategy resulted in positive transformation and clarity for an organization that had been mired in stagnation and was now poised for growth. It also resulted in significant recognition for our team.
- Education Industry: Designed, invested $2M, and managed groundbreaking program with the University of Pensacola to develop a collaborative international telecommunications network. Deployment of this project dragged over $30M of hardware and system software.
- Media & Entertainment Industry: Worked closely with two start-up C-level executives on strategic and operational issues as well as provided on-going guidance on managing communications with their respective Board of Directors.
